My eighteenth birthday is quickly approaching! Before my last birthday, I bought makeup from Target, and kept it simple; However, last year the only thing I wanted was the BareMinerals starter kit, and that was the beginning of my makeup obsession. For this birthday I have a new fixation: nail polish! China Glaze, OPI, and Essie. Since discovering (and becoming a huge fan of) MissJenFabulous’s youtube, I’ve decided I need to convert my already quite large collection of nail varnishes to quality nail brands.
I made a list of all the colors I want to start my new collection with, and thought it would be enjoyable to share the ones I’m most in love with.
*on a side note, most of these are Essie, and that is because Essie does the best pastels, and pastels have always been my favorites.
*also, these are in order of the ones I want most.
OPI Not Like The Movies- From the Katy Perry collection. Beautiful artist, beautiful song, BEAUtiful nail varnish! This holographic silver/green/purple will look so gorgeous in the summer sun.
Essie Smooth Sailing- From Essie's Brazziliant summer collection, they describe it as "a breezy lavender blue with a reflection of pearl". It looks like a unique/fun color to me!
China Glaze Sunset Sail- I feel that this will become a summer staple for me. Its a soft orange/nude from the Anchors Away collection, and can be brighter/softer depending on the number of coats. I'm sure this will look perfect with a tan too!
OPI Melon of Troy & Essie Tart Deco-
These two fabulous orange/coral shades are my competing picks for my graduation nail color. While they're similar shades, there are differences, so I'm insisting on having both, and figuring out which goes best with my dress ;)
Essie Eternal Optimist- This really should be higher up the list because each time I see it, I fall more in love with it. "A spiced tea rose with a dash of cream"? That description along gets me, but the shade is also such a unique pinkish tone. LOVE!
Essie Chinchilly- I've heard loads of buzz about this, and its definitely deserved. Gray/concrete tones were a very big winter trend, and it appears to be going into this spring season. Whether its "in" or not, I need this lovely gray shade.
Last but not least..................................
Essie Turquoise & Caicos- What a tricky name, but I think this is the perfect blend between a pastel & neon for summer. I'm not a huge fan of blue shade for my names, but this gorgeous aqua will be mine, and I will wear it proudly.
And those are my very top picks for what I want to begin my "high-end" nail varnish collection with. Some of these are following the spring/summer trends, while others are just pretty for any time of the year! I can't wait to hear what everyone else's favorite are this year :)
